On July 24, 2019, a team of experts from the Joint Design Institute of Shaantou Xinxing Rehabilitation Hospital went to Tangdu Hospital of Air Force Military Medical University for an interview.
Tangdu Hospital of Air Force Military Medical University, formerly Yan'an Central Hospital founded in 1939, was approved as the Second Affiliated Hospital of Fourth Military Medical University by the General Counsellor in 1958. Pain specialists first warmly welcomed the arrival of the working group of Shantou Xinxing Rehabilitation Hospital. Secondly, the experts expressed their unique opinions on the positive role of pain department in geriatric management, and introduced the current advanced pain relief technology, including pain minimally invasive interventional technology guided by imaging and neuroelectrophysiological technology. Thirdly, the experts also pointed out that pain discipline is closely related to other medical disciplines. Interpenetration, and involving a wide range of medical fields and diseases, therefore, the establishment of a comprehensive pain specialty is the mainstream trend of the development of modern medicine.
